This is not CRIME RELATED but it concerns all DORINGKLOOF RESIDENTS:-
A company called "SMART PREPAID METER" Has been subcontracted by Tshwane Municipality, to do a survey of all the house (residential) ELECTRICITY METERS in Doringkloof.
The company is contracted to do the following under the management of Raven Croft:
Workers will be going from door to door. They will have a list containing names and addresses. If your name IS on the list, please allow them into your yard so as to have access to your electricity meter (if it is located inside your yard – they may not under any circumstance go into your house).
WHAT THEY DO:-
1) They open your electricity box and; take a photograph to record the serial number of your box as well as the current reading.
2) A blue device which looks like a cell phone will be placed, loosely, inside your meter box to record the GPS co-ordinates of your meter. After about 3 minutes they remove the devise and they now leave your property.
3) Please escort them to your gate and wish them a good day.
If your name is NOT on the list there is no need to allow them onto your property.
After a period of about 2 to 3 months they will return to install a pre-paid meter outside your property at your gate/wall. (There is an option to have it installed inside in a place of your choice, but this will carry an additional fee). .The installation of the meter outside is done with no charge to the resident.
Please Note:-
1. The pre-paid meters are not optional – they are compulsory to all residents of Tshwane. This is to upgrade the system and also to exclude all confusion with the billing systems which have been quite a problem lately.
2. Please ask for identification. All the workers have an ID Card while their vehicle is also marked.
