DIV – BELANGRIKE BOODSKAP
Tydens 'n onlangse DRA komittee vergadering is daar besluit dat die inkomende komitee (vir 2014/15) sal diegene wees wat deur die gemeenskap genomineer en tydens die komende algemene jaarvergadering ingestem word.
Anders as in vorige jare wanneer individue hulself beskikbaar gestel het en op die algemene jaarvergadering aanvaar was, sal dit hierdie jaar anders benader word. Die komitee poog hierdeur om groter deelname te stimuleer en verhoed dat die Doringkloof Buurtwag op 'n paar bereidwillige inwoners neerkom.
Die komitee is van mening dat deur hierdie proses te volg die Doringkloof Buurtwag weer die belangstelling en verantwoordelikheid van al sy inwoners sal word.
Die komitee besef dat hierdie besluit die gevaar mag inhou dat geen nominasies na vore sal kom nie. Hulle aanvaar ook dat indien dit die geval is, sal dit beteken dat die Doringkloof inwoners voel daar is nie meer 'n behoefte aan 'n buurtwag nie. Sou dit die geval wees sal DRA soos per sy grondwet ontbind word.
Huidige lede van die DRA/DNW word hiermee uitgenooi om nominasies vir die DRA komitee in te dien. Nominasies moet aan die Voorsitter van die DRA Komitee gerig word, óf per e-pos aan mrdramer@gmail.com of in die posbus by Mahoniestraat 80 gepos word. Nominasies moet vergesel word deur 'n brief van aanvaarding van die persoon wat genomineer is.
DRA – IMPORTANT MESSAGE
At a recent DRA Committee meeting, a decision was taken that the incoming committee (for 2014/15) will be those nominated by the community and voted in during the AGM.
Unlike previous years when individuals made themselves available and were accepted at the AGM, this will be discontinued as the committee would like to stimulate greater participation and prevent the work of the Doringkloof Neighbourhood Watch from falling onto a few concerned residents.
The committee believes that by this means the Doringkloof Neighbourhood Watch will again become the concern and responsibility of all its residents.
The committee, in making this decision, accepted the danger that no nominations may be put forward. If this is the case, the committee accepted that the Doringkloof residents feel that there is no longer any need for a neighbourhood watch and will therefore wind up the DRA as per its constitution.
Current members of the DRA/DNW are hereby invited to submit nominations to serve on the DRA committee. Nominations are to be submitted to the Chairman of the DRA Committee, either by email to mrdramer@gmail.com or dropped off in the post box at 80 Mahonie Street. Nominations must be accompanied by a letter of acceptance from the person being nominated.
