SPRUIT DOG WALK

The Friends of Doringkloof Spruit is sponsoring a dog walk on Saturday 24 September.

Funds raised will go to PAWS – a Rehabilitation Centre which does wonderful work for animals in distress. (They presently even have a pregnant hedgehog which has just produced 3 babies!) With the help of therapy offered at the Centre, many of their animals have recovered from serious injuries.

REGISTRATION: 07.30 behind Engen Garage in the spruit, near Jasper Bridge.

WALK from 8:00 to 10:00

COST: R20/dog and R10/person

SAFE PARKING at the Doringkloof Mall- Woolworths side

The walk will be 2 km, in the spruit, and there will be water points along the way. There will be stalls selling food for the hungry and others selling pet products – and there will also be a raffle for at least 4 prizes, one being dinner, bed and breakfast for two at Irene Lodge, to the value of R4500!

So bring along your dog and come and join us for a morning of fun.

WATER RESTRICTIONS

Last year, at the height of the heat wave, the City of Tshwane implemented water restrictions in terms of Clause 19 of the Water Supply By-Law, Notice 468 of 24 July 2014.

The restrictions specifically applied to the following:

·         Watering/irrigating gardens with a hosepipe or sprinkler from 06h00 to 18h00

·         Washing of vehicles with hosepipes

·         Filling of swimming pools

The same above restrictions which were implemented last year will apply with immediate effect from 12 August 2016.

We urge all our consumers to join us in making efforts to reduce the water consumption.
