Hi Doringkloof Residents !

StatsSA Community Survey 2016 (CS 2016) –  07 March to 22 April 2016.

In March 2016, StatsSA will start conducting the second Community Survey (CS 2016). The survey is a national household level survey, which means that StatsSA fieldworkers will be going door-to-door to collect information from selected households in the area.

As this is a sample survey, not all households in the area will be visited and the substituting of households is not allowed.

The survey focuses on the measurement of access to facilities and services, such as water, sanitation and electricity; the measurement of demographic factors such as fertility, mortality and migration; and the measurement of socio-economic factors such as employment and poverty statistics.

Some households may be visited a second time between 25 April and 13 May 2016, as part of an Evaluation Survey, which is conducted to check the quality of the information collected in the main survey.

CS 2016 fieldworkers can be identified through official ID cards, which include a hologram image to verify authenticity. The ID card will have the fieldworkers name, surname, ID number and the province in which they are working. Refer to document entitled “StatsSA Fieldworker Identification” on www.doringkloof.net in the downloads section.

The fieldworkers assigned to the Doringkloof area are: Tumesho Masemola, Ephenia Sello and Lebogang Nkoana.

CS 2016 will be followed by a Demographic and Health Survey from May to September.

The Doringkloof Residents Association (DRA) appeals to all residents at the selected households to participate in both surveys and to co-operate with the fieldworkers. The collected information will be used for our future planning and decision-making, and we expect to make the information available to our residents via the web site.

Further information can be obtained from StatsSA via 0800 110 248 (toll free) or www.statssa.gov.za.

It may also be useful to refer to the Statistics Act, Number 6 of 1999, especially Section 16 entitled “Duty to answer questions”.

Regards,
