Good morning Friends

We are well into the new year now and I trust you are well and ready for fresh challenges!

We had our first committee meeting yesterday, on World Wetlands Day, so I thought I would pop some links into my email to remind us of what incredible resources we have around us.  Rietvlei is a notable example of a wetland (it is a very wetland now after all the rain!) and it is a precious resource to protect.  They have an active Friends group too if you would like to join them.

Although the Hennops  River is not a wetland, it is a special river system for us.  Tarryn, as we know, is the water champion and her energy in cleaning up this river is infectious. She will always welcome your help!  Have a look at these sites for a reminder.

We will be having our first work party in the spruit this Saturday.  I apologise for the short notice, but we urgently need to get in and

do some cleaning.

We will meet on Glover Street bridge at 8am.  Bring your own gloves, and if you have pliers we can do some fence-mending too.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our events.

Please send me a message if you would like to be added to the “FoDS Info and Activities” WhatsApp group.

Here’s to a productive year!

Kind regards

Penny
