Good evening, Friends

It is wonderful to see everything looking green and lush and I am so glad the tractor has recently mowed the fields.  Walking in the veld is such a pleasure.

We were fortunate to have four young men from Midstream school pick up litter in the Doringkloof Spruit on Saturday.  They were doing their community service and boy, did they work hard in their 3 hours!  Thank you, Janet, for also coming along to help.  We cleaned from Sonia bridge right up to Limpopo Street pedestrian gate.

Marcus also got stuck in with the brush cutter and cleared all around the “Rotary block” near the Sonia Street bridge.  The tractor can’t get in there, so it must be managed with a brush cutter.  So, it looks amazing in that area.  Please go and enjoy a walk up that way.

I would love some ideas from the Friends as to how we can promote and use the Doringkloof Spruit.

Or better yet, tell us how you are enjoying the spruit and what interesting things you have seen there.

Has anyone spotted any new birds? Please remember to contact Jared on jbeukes1995@gmail.com so he can update the bird list.

Have a good week.

Regards

Penny
