Here is a summary of crime in Doringkloof & surrounding the last week:
Doringkloof:
-Wednesday@11h15 Drug deal, Zambesi Ave, Resident gave chase on a motorbike.
-Thursday @18h29 Silver (Datsun Go or Nissan Micra), Reg no HP56WR GP, followed an Uber driver during delivery in Zambesi Ave, Doringkloof. The delivery man fled to a safe place. Before this, the same car mugged a lady at Corner Station/Burger St, Lyttelton.
-Friday Overhead cables reported damaged Limpopo/Zambesi …these are power cables for CoT video surveillance.
Surrounding areas:
– Wednesday@14h20, 4 BM’s (armed) highjacked a 60/60 delivery bike in Fountian Ave, Lyttelton. A red Renault Kwid partial reg …58LM GP was involved (Arrested R55 this morning).
-Sunday Cable theft Corner Von Willich & South, 3m cable stolen.
-Monday 01h35: attempted theft of gate motor, Van Riebeeck/Fitzpatrick St.
-Monday (early) Business burglary River/Pretorius Rd.
-Monday 03h40: Wall-jumping (arrested), Burger Ave, Lyttleton, There have been numerous instances of walljumping in Lyttleton, mostly early mornings. Bicycles, Washing, and Gas bottles are typically stolen from yards of houses (usually those with poor perimeter protection).
From above we can say the following:
1) 1-4 am is now crime-time. Listen to your dogs raising the alarm. Take back your streets. Summon help and support each other to investigate disturbances.
2) Crime trends in surrounding areas usually also pass through Doringkloof. Let’s act to stop them.
3) Look after your perimeter security. Don’t leave valuables in your yard.
4) Keep crime out of your home, by keeping criminals off the street. Help patrol DKN.
5) Report crime first & fast by Radio!
