Financial
Some residents have requested that their contributions and donations should be used for specific projects. In addition to the existing references, we now have “CCTV” for CCTV-related contributions and “Sign” for signage-related contributions.
The format for the required references (on EFT payments and payments made at New Fatima Café) remains unchanged. In all instances the reference is followed by the first three characters of your street name and three characters for the street number.
Here are some examples :
Radio licences : Licence SON056 or Lisensie SON056. CCTV : CCTV MAH084
Non-specific donations : Donate KOR112 or Donasie KOR112. Signage : Sign LEO125
It’s particularly important for this format to be used on all single and recurring EFT’s.
The “DRA banking details” document on the web site will be changed soon.
For residents who do not have the banking details, here they are :
Bank : ABSA, Centurion. Rekening / Account : Tjek / Cheque.
Takkode / Branch Code : 63 04 45. Rekening Nommer / Account Number : 4069026417
Rekeningnaam / Account Name : Doringkloof Residents Association
NOTE : Radio licence fees must be paid as soon as possible. (R50-00 per radio)
Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Doringkloof Residents Association (DRA)
Our next AGM will start at 19h00 on Wednesday, 13 April 2016, in the NG Church in Leonie Street.
To use our time effectively, no questions will be taken from the floor. Instead, we have created a specific, confidential e-mail address, private@doringkloof.net, to cater for your issues, questions, concerns, proposals, need-to-know, etc. Only the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the DRA will receive these messages.
This e-mail address should also be used for nominating persons who you believe should be on the Doringkloof Residents Association Committee. Remember to state that your nominee has accepted the nomination.
For AGM-related matters please include “2016 AGM” in the subject line.
CCTV
Our CCTV system has already proved that it’s a valuable asset in the fight against crime. Apart form further deployment at strategic locations, we would like to make use of our residents’ CCTV systems. If you have a CCTV system and you are prepared to provide access to any of your street-facing cameras, please respond to private@doringkloof.net, with CCTV in the subject line, by 22 April.
After 22 April a meeting will be arranged where all details will be explained and residents can decide on whether their offers are retained or withdrawn.
Removal of illegal advertising
Within the next few days a document entitled “Removal of illegal advertising – Deed of Indemnity” will be placed on the web site in the downloads section. Any residents who are prepared to assist with the removal of illegal advertising, commonly known as “visual pollution”, should complete the form and e-mail it to cap@doringkloof.net or bring it to the AGM. In both cases a copy of your ID is also required.
The documentation will be accumulated and then be submitted for approval in one batch.
Our intention is to focus only on the removal of illegal signs that are attached to trees, street lamp poles and traffic signs, and therefore knowledge of the Control of Outdoor Advertising By-law is considered unnecessary. When in doubt, specific signs will not be removed unless prior permission has been obtained from City Planning and Environmental Management.
We are hoping that at least one resident per street will offer to assist.
Additional Co-ordinators
Our crime prevention activities rely heavily on the contributions made by the co-ordinators. To ease their workload we shall appreciate more residents volunteering their services, even if only two shifts per month can be managed.
