CRIME REPORT
Last week we again had a burglary, this time in Outeniqua Ave. As expected, the sliding gate was lifted and the thieves gained access to the property. Once in, they broke a window and into the house they went.
“IF YOU HAVE A SLIDING GATE – CHECK WHETHER YOU CAN LIFT IT OFF THE RAILS!! IF YOU CAN PLEASE DO SOME THING ABOUT IT.”
YOU MAY BE THE NEXT VICTIM OF A BURGLARY.
Theft out of vehicles has been again noted.
Please, do not leave a vehicle on the pavement if you can help it. If you must then do not leave valuables lying about on the seats. This type of crime also attracts more thieves.
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
This coming Saturday we are having a membership drive outside the New Fatima Cafe on the corner of Sonja and Glover Aves.
We all know that you are already members but what about your neighbour or your friends who live in Doringkloof.
The more residents we have signed up and who have radios, the better we are equipped to fight crime in Doringkloof. So, encourage your friends and neighbours to visit our stall on Saturday or bring them along when you came to say “HI” and to check your membership and contact details.
REMEMBER – WHEN WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE USING THE RADIO WE ARE AT OUR MOST EFFECTIVE.
Bye-the-way – for those Doringkloof residents who are under the impression that being on the Doringkloof Whatsapp or Zello channels makes them members of the DNW, we regret to say that it does not make them members. A member of the DNW is someone who has a radio and a paid-up license. Our fear is always that a resident who may be a victim of crime, sends a Whatsapp or Zello message but no one hears it in time and there is no responds at all.
